Welcome to the MAC#1 Motorsports website!

Designed to help you "... experience the world of kitcar creation ..." we have worked hard to make it as easy and simple to use as possible.

When creating the concept for the site, we came up with seven key goals:

The Website Users

- will find it easy to find out how to build a kitcar

- will find it easy to find products to enable them to build a kitcar

- will find it easy to find out about MAC#1 Motorsports and what we can do for them

- will not be distracted by adverts, flashing banners or hard to read text colours

- will see that the 'cars are the stars'

For MAC#1 Motorsports

- the site will promote what we can do for the kitcar enthusiast

- the site will provide a platform for us to sell our great products online

We also wanted to make this site as compatible as possible with every potential website user (within our technological expertise).

We chose the Joomla! open source content management system as the core platform for the site.  This meant that we could create from scratch our own design, feel and look to the site, whilst using tried and tested, community developed solutions.

Our shopping cart is powered by VirtueMart, an open source Joomla! component that is used by online shops around the world.

The site has been tested in the majority of the browsers currently in use, and was developed using the Firefox Web Developer Toolbar and Firebug development tools.  We have validated our HTML and CSS to ensure that it complies with the latest standards set by the W3C in terms of valid code and accessibility, and - apart from a few items - uses as few tables as possible, making the site accessible to those who may use a screen reader or different font sizes for browsing.

If you have any comments on the site and would like to share them with us Contact Us.
